The Remote Measurement Kit allows for shape capture of a MyoPro user without requiring a visit to a clinical office or sending a clinician to a user's house. This system is equipped with a surface tablet and cellular modem to perform a telehealth call connecting a user to a Myomo-certified clinician who can guide them through the steps of taking measurements. The system captures photographs of a user's arm while wearing several calibration fiducials. It also contains a flat-bed scanner protected behind a reinforced plate that can scan a hand from the palm side to capture finger and palmar features necessary for creating a custom-sized device. A digital tape measure is also used to capture circumferences at key locations.
The entire system is fitted into a ruggedized Pelican case capable of being shipped and returned via standard carriers. At Myomo, our team recharges and sanitizes the units between each use.
On this project, I:
-Built initial concepts demonstrating the capability of photogrammetry for shape capture, and quantified camera distortion compensation matrix
-Specified critical components and overall design
-Guided a junior engineer to complete the design and documentation package and launch as an internal tool for Myomo personnel and trained clinicians at Myomo Centers of Excellence
-Vetted software options for transmitting user PHI in a HIPAA compliant method using SOC2 compliant data transfer integrations
